Danpei Han

Biography

Danpei Han is a Boston-based pianist and chamber musician who has been invited to perform at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York City. Her recent honors include First Prize at the New York International Music Competition, Miclot International Music Competition, and Golden Classical Music Awards, followed by Second Prize at the Ischia International Piano Competition in Italy. She has also received First Prize at the BOYA Piano Competition and Yamaha Music Scholarship Competition in China.

Originally from China, Danpei brings together classical performance, lyrical expression, and thoughtful musical communication. She is especially drawn to Romantic repertoire, chamber music, and the intimate connection between performer, score, and audience.

Danpei earned her Master of Music in Piano Performance from the Longy School of Music of Bard College, where she studied piano with Rieko Aizawa and further developed her musicianship through studies with Esther Ning Yau, Libor Dudas, and Renana Gutman. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Nanchang University, where she studied with Chia-Hui Chin. Alongside her performance work, she teaches piano in the Greater Boston area, is a member of the Music Teachers National Association, and participates in the Steinway Teacher and Educational Partner programs.
